Into the green candle review. As seen in vogue magazine!

It’s always exciting working with a new company and as you are very aware by now I am the candle connoisseur. I’m addicted to candles and there is something about lighting a candle at the end of the day that screams I’m done and ready to relax. I also have a strong belief that you’re not done cleaning till you’ve lit a wax melt at the end of it and all the smells in the room just wait through the house and make you feel cosy and clean again.

I was very fortunate to be offered some candles in exchange for this review. So they where kindly gifted. They have recently been featured in vogue magazine and that made me all the more excited. I used to always buy things I saw in magazines as of course they have teams that research these products meticulously. So to be highlighted in such a big magazine screams brilliant product.

First of all the items are beautiful. The packaging and the product style is simple and chic. They’re small so no massive candles floating around and can easily store away if you don’t like them on show you can out away with the screw lid.

Breathe and Be is my fav. It smells like mint which I love when I’m feeling unwell and stressed out as it’s a clearing revitalising smell. It smells so fresh and clear and you can feel your lungs opening when you sniff it. The wax burns really well and you can smell after around a minuite really strong. It is so fresh and feels like it’s opening you up as you breathe in! This is the newest candle and I adore it!

I was also sent kissed by the moon which is another fantastic smell. I think it smells like a relaxing night time candle. It smells calming and makes me feel at ease. My anxiety feels like it’s a bit more calm when I’m relaxed so hats of to this candle! It smells almost floraly but earthy at the same time.

These candles would also make the perfect gift for any candle lover aswell. if you would like to try use the discount BreatheandBe for 10 percent off.

Candle review! With Am botanical

Candle review! With Am botanical

Gifted product- This candle was kindly sent from the lovely people over at am botanical. The candle is really really pretty! I think it’s the most beautifully presented packages I have ever opened too. The package had a beautiful note, lots of lovely tissue paper and a beautiful bag to hold it. This makes it the perfect gift because it makes the candle look classy and like you’ve gone to a lot of effort to order it!

The smell is really fresh! I was sent the joyful odorata. It smells similar to a few candles such as jo malone ones. It’s the prefect fresh scent for calming you and bringing your mood up. It has lavander in also which is so good for calming and mood boosting. It is packed full of essential oils and is plant based. It is vegan and cruelty free so perfect for anyone to use! They are also ethically conscious so you know your product is made with the planet in mind.

The candle itself looks so elegant in any room in the house I love the simplicity of the design. The burning is really strong and smells nice everywhere in the house. It burns really well and lasts a long time. With Father’s Day coming this would make the perfect gift as the scent is not to feminine either!

Review of caleo wax melts!

Review of caleo wax melts!

(Gifted) I was very kindly sent some wax melts to review because as you know I am clearly the candle connoisseur. I think it’s clearly something I need to put on my CV. I absolutely adore candles my house is filled with them and I dare you to come into my house and find a empty table or work space without some sort of candle related item.

I also love wax melts. Why you may ask? Well storage! although candles look cute they take up so much room. I’d rather fill my little box up with goodies then have nowhere to eat my dinner because my obsessions taken over. Also any of my friends reading this. Please stop telling me when candles or melts are on deal as we all know I’m soooo going to panic buy.

So first up we’ve got the presentation. Yes the product is the most important thing but I think the way you present your products is important too. If something is sent looking like a gift I 100 percent love it more. The box was very lovingly wrapped up in tissue paper with stickers. I also got a hand written note and sweet too. Instead of a buisnesses card it was lovely sticker which explained how to burn them to get the best out of the product.

Fun fact I have only once ever had a perfume scented wax melt from another company!Wild right! Because that scent wasn’t the strongest it kind of put me of perfume scents for a while so I was sceptical about how the products would smell and if they would keep there scent! But from just opening this box I new from the smells it was going to be good!

The wax melts come in either an adorable heart shape or in a block with squares. The squares are beautifully coloured and have lots of glitter inside to make it feel that bit more special. Inside the packets we have the little wax melts which come with the most pretty little hearts which have little tangs of different colours in. I love these because they are so space saving and I don’t have to worry about storage!

So let’s dive into each melt as I review them!

So first up we have pomegranate black. This smells quite like a fruity plum mix almost like a fizzy drink with the smell of some sort of wood mix. It smells really, really good and like a fragrance i would like to wear.

Next is lenor golden orchid obviously made to replicate the scent of lenor products. It smells very sweet and like vanilla it’s a nice soft a delicate smell!

Next we have purple rain. And yes I sign it like Prince every time I read it. Now it’s in your head and I’m not even sorry! This smells like the cocktail. The similarity is uncanny and it’s making me miss sitting in a pub garden with my friends a little tipsy of our cocktails at spoons.

Bon bons is up next. This scent is quite obviously based on the perfume bonbon. It smells quite uncanny and I love the scent. It’s made me want to go out and buy the perfume to wear it! This is a fruity sweet scent.

Next we have daisy again inspired by the daisy perfume. This is a soft flowery smell and smelly much like the perfume! look at how beautifully presented this is with all the glitter and the packaging!

La vie is last with obviously being somewhat a dupe of the Lancôme la vie. It has a vanilla, fruit and floral concoction to it which smells Devine!Very similar to the perfume if not stronger!! I love the glitter and little ribbon sequins inside!

The burn time is long and the scent fills my whole house. I will defiantly be buying again! a very firm favourite in this house now even my husband and son are interested and my 2 year old says it smells nice!

All of these stunning wax melts are very affordable. They won’t break the bank so you can get lots. The bars are around £2.30 and the heart melts around 2.99! Absolute bargain considering the quality of the products! You can also buy a single sample for only 50p which is great if you like me are fussy about your smell choice! They even do customised wax melts which could perhaps spell your name. They even sells burners, diffusers, sprays and carpet freshness so go and check them out!

Keeping organised.

Keeping organised.

Being a mum there’s nothing more stressful than trying to retain things like what day it is and your availability of the top of your head. I’ve found since having a kid I’m a bit more organised and able to structure my life a bit better without planning to see someone and forgetting. I owe it all down to my new organisation.

My favourite thing is my diary. Until a few months ago I was rechecking texts to remember when I was seeing people and getting mixed up stressing myself out in the process. I brought myself a lovely diary which has lots of space. I have a big part for each day and then 4 small boxes on the next page to write things I could be doing or have planned also. What I do is write my day and evening plans and then in a box sometimes cleaning jobs I need to do and then in a box meal prep and what’s for dinner. My diary also has a convenient reminders check list at the side of each week so I can write what I need to do each week and tick it off. Very handy when needing to call doctors, run an Errand or a reminder to pick something up in town. The diary also comes with a month overview so I can write clearly where I am so I don’t have to look through weeks to find the dates which I think is so handy. My diary makes me feel safe. It shows me I’m actually quite busy and have friends and am loved. It shows me I do a lot around the house when I think I’ve done none.

I also have a large quantity of notebooks. My favourites are magnetic ones I keep on fridge for writing shopping lists and quick reminders. I love my menu planner which I think is really good for reminding me what meat to get out, what to buy for shopping and have a routine that is not the same grub every night .

Having a family Callander can be good too. If one of us want to do something we write on diary that way if one of us want to go out with friends childcare’s left with the other person so no arguements. However James forgets to read and has several times booked to do things on days I’ve got a paid for show or reunion to attend that’s been planned for months.

I really find that keeping organised has really helped me and my life to stay on track recently and gives me a lot of comfort when organising. I feel on top of myself and writing to do lists can really help my mind and make me stop being anxious and focus on a task. I get satisfaction crossing things I’ve done out and adding new things to my diary and note books makes me feel as though I have a life when sometimes I feel I don’t.

How to turn your candles too wax melts and save broken candles!

How to turn your candles too wax melts and save broken candles!

Had enough of throwing away your left over wax at the bottom of your candle knowing that you could easily get a little bit more burning time out of it? Well you can! You’ve got two options when trying to save your candles wax and i can tell you how.

I did a post like this on one of my old blogging sites long forgotten and thought I’d do another one today as spent my day doing. Basically Elijah had knocked something a few months ago that made my cabinet wobble and my burnt once Yankee candle hit onto another causing a hairline crack. When candles are heated they basically explode if the slightest crack or smash has happened. Basically a big danger. Not ready to let go I kept it to side till I had a jar large enough for it. So now I have enough candles that are finished its the time to do it!

First method to make a wax melt. This step cannot be done to broken jars so here goes. This is how I make wax melts so I can keep the party going for much longer.

Step one: Boil the kettles and pour it over the candle to near the top.

Step two: Walk away and leave it too cool till wax has hardened, you will need about a hour or so.

Step three: Simply push your hand down on the wax at top to break it apart and pull or bend and snap the wax to get out.

Step four: Pour water down sink and with a blunt knife scoop anything left at bottom into a bag or container except the metal bit and wick that goes in the bin. You may need to break it up.

Step five: Clean the jar with toothbrush and water if you want to use it again and remove stickers from outside. You can use it for another candle or storage such as keeping sweets/ snacks/ toiletries in. If you don’t want to keep it you can now recycle the glass at a bottle bank. Fun fact you can’t acturally recycle candles that have wax attached to them still some places won’t accept them.

Step 6: When you are ready break a little off and put in your wax melter and relive your beloved candles smell.

Second method now. Saving a broken candle. First you need to be careful and not cut yourself. If the candle is smashed bad this is not possible but if little smash or crack like mine which got worse as I tried to get wax out first than it is possible!

Step one: Put kettle on and boil water. Place candle in saucepan on a hob.

Step two: Pour the boiling water around candle. Turning on the hob to heat it up. It should melt like this.

Step three: Now till wax has melted near to top with about a cm left where you can still see middle isn’t melted all the way through and still hard.Turn heat off.

Step four: Get a pair of tongs or pliers and lift the wick gently and slowly it should all come together with the bit of metal, slowly transfer into your new jar in the middle with metal down in the middle.

Step five: With oven gloves, carefully Pour the wax from the candle into a glass jug then pour carefully around the candle not touching wick.

Step six: Leave it to harden then like magic you have a new candle!

A proven money saver and environmentally friendly way to enjoy your candles that little bit more. The candle will tidy itself up as it burns!
